Free Guide Helps Show You How To Manage Sporting Injuries.
Given the place we live sports injuries are ever so common. Compared to other areas of the country, we live in a fairly active and sporty community. The microclimate we enjoy and the beautiful surroundings we have around us, appear to inspire many of us to live an active and often outdoor lifestyle. We have many great clubs from running clubs to triathlon clubs, to football teams to well just about anything really even underwater hockey. We have lots of great activities windsurfing, sailing, kayaking. We are all privileged to have so much going on in the area
The downside is with all sporting activity we run a risk of injury. Yes there are often ways to minimise injury but we cannot ever fully eradicate the risk. As a result we do see a lot of sportspeople and athletes come through our clinic be it acute injuries or overload type pictures. If you are not currently injured but want to know ways of reducing risk then we do also offer our sports injury risk assessment. Click here for more details
Using our wealth of knowledge and experience, we get people back to playing their sport or doing the activities they enjoy. We do this in as quick as time as possible. But we also make sure it is safe. We do return to sport testing to minimise the risk of failed return or reinjury. We advise things you can do to avoid future problems, we don’t want you coming back again and again. We want you fixed and resilient.
Importantly there is no barrier to return to any sport. We don’t like rules, we don’t like you can’t do this because its impact, we don’t believe any sport or activity is bad for you. With the right mindset, the right beliefs and solid strength and conditioning everything is possible. Yes that does mean you with the arthritic knee can carry on running … its actually good for you… even on concrete.

When you've injured yourself playing sport be it an impact in to your shoulder, a twist on your knee or ankle, a strain to a muscle or even something that has slowly evolved over time it is important to act early. The earlier you act, the quicker recovery you will have and the quicker you will be back out there doing what you enjoy. It is so important therefore to get checked out at the earliest convenience so you can be sure you are doing all the right things to help your recovery.
We can then assess you and give you the correct diagnosis, we can liaise with your GP if any further tests are needed. GPs are often thankful for this as often they have no idea what is going or what to do anyway when it comes to sporting injuries. Our patients have often been to A and E where they have been given a vague soft tissue injury diagnosis. We give you the exact diagnosis and then tell you what you need to do to get it better.
This will most certainly involve rehabilitation but may also include manual therapy and taping as required. We give you control how much you need to see us. Want to see us weekly for rehab sessions thats fine, want to go away and work on the rehab plan we set you thats fine, want milestones to be set so you know when you need to come back for progression that is fine too. You are in control.
